Liz Bryant grew up Wild at heart. Never sitting still, always trying new things. It wasn’t until 2015, when she realized her Wild within - to explore beyond her hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

After six years as an NBC News Reporter, her innate desire to adventure urged Liz to take a break from the industry and go explore - the classic Eat, Pray, Love soul-searching kind of exploration.

Liz left to embark upon her next journey, one that would change her life forever, hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. From April to August, Liz hiked an average of 20 miles per day, where she inevitably coined the trail name “Wild” after fellow hikers continuously commented on her resemblance to Reese Witherspoon from the newly released movie Wild.

On the trail, Liz discovered we are meant for more than climbing the work ladder and accumulating material items. Simply put, the experiences brought more joy to her life than anything she could ever buy.

Liz never went back to Oklahoma. Instead, she saw this as her chance to move to the West Coast and build a new life. Liz landed in La Jolla, California, working as a reporter for NBC San Diego.

A few months into “normal life,” Liz saw herself from a birds-eye view. Driving on the Interstate to and from work, eating dinner, going to bed and repeating the same pattern day after day. This ah-ha moment/quarter life crisis made her listen to the inner Wild. This lifestyle was no longer for her. Post PCT, she knew there was more to life

Liz dropped the corporate life and began a video production company, specializing in medical marketing and patient success stories. With this new found work and flexibility in her schedule, Liz was free. Ready for her next adventure.

She discovered a built out Sprinter on Instagram in 2016 (infant stage of the #VanLife trend). After a year of research, contemplating whether to buy new or used and what make of van, Liz took a leap of faith and bought a new Mercedes Sprinter. She designed it and her former partner built it, making her dream a reality.

The van was complete on Liz's birthday, August 9th, 2017. This was the start of her new Wild chapter, living full-time in the van and traveling over 50,000 miles throughout the United States and Canada. Her favorite place? Tahoe and Southern California. However, Utah rock formations blew her away.

Liz Bryant's Wild heart coupled with her reporter instincts and video production skills, quickly led her to become the face of Solo Female #VanLife on Instagram. Her followers requested a Youtube Channel. Within six months, Wild By The Mile gained 100,000 subscribers. On social media, Liz reveals the challenges of loneliness, family's disapproval of her lifestyle and the highs and lows of everything #VanLife.

First to market, Liz officially debuted Wild By The Mile #VanLife Workshop - an intimate “How To” #VanLife crash course, starting May 2019. She came up with this idea after a magazine interview, where the journalist asked, “Are you sick of people asking you all the time if you - ‘Are You Scared!?’” The answer: no and neither should you. Liz's goal is to empower women to fearlessly explore the unknown and provide an opportunity for others to experience #VanLife first-hand before the emotional and financial commitment.

What’s next? Only time will tell. Life is a Wild adventure.
